On inspection it appears that you have an old Fuse board – consumer unit. It might not be compliant with current regulations and may not have the latest RCD protection. When working in a bathroom, if we change or add any electrical work such as lights, extractors or showers then the electric circuit to the bathroom has to be protected by RCD as stated in the regulations. In some instances it is an ideal time for the fuse board – consumer unit to be changed to a new unit that meets the current regulations. We can discuss this.
